Welcome Oklahoma authors!

 

   We'd like to tell you about a one-day writers' conference on March 29, 2003.  It will be held in Western Hills Lodge, nestled in Sequoya State Park in Wagoner, Oklahoma.

 

Keynote speaker is Steven E. Wedel, who won the Society of Professional Journalists first place Mark of Excellence award for column writing in Region 8 in 1998 and 1999, plus a second-place for feature writing in 1999. Steven also has a couple of state chapter SPJ awards. In 2000, Steven won Short, Scary Tales' Best Fiction contest for his story "Reunion." In 2001 he won third place for historical romance novel and an honorable mention for short-short fiction from the Oklahoma Writers Federation, Inc.

   There are to be three workshops held:

9-10:30 AM           Electronic Publishing-Lorraine Stephens, publisher/owner of Wings E-Press

10:30 AM-Noon    Creating, Writing, and Submitting your secrets for profit-Gloria Teague, published author of dozens of stories, novels and "how-to" book

Noon-2:00 PM      Lunch

2:00-3:00 PM        How to find distributors for your work-Lydona Atchley, agent/publisher

3-5:00 PM            Discussion/feed back time for anyone who wishes to attend

7 PM                    Dinner

9 AM-5 PM         Booksignings by various authors.
